at this time we are having boundary and discipline issues going on so I really can't take time to post information or pictures. i will take a moment to just tell everyone that yesterday (saturday) was her medical examination day. all went well with her exams but she had A LOT of attitude with me yesterday.
unfortunately today hasn't been much better when it comes to her attitude with me. we had several bad situations that finally came to a head. eric FINALLY had a long discussion with her and explained to her that all these things are not going to continue. we will see how things go from now on.
we did go out today with the wacap group to a jewelry store. eric and i bought several items for the girls to give to them on their wedding day. i don't want to go into detail in fear that cecilia will read this and all will be spoiled.
for now i must go. we are having computer issues so eric and i are trying not to be on here too much. alicia is wanting to contact her friends at the orphanage all the time and we are not in favor of this. we believe that for now the ties need to be broken so that she will bond with her forever family in a long time healthy manner.
we long to be home and are counting the days til we are back in america...6 and counting eagerly.

Calling prayer warriors
Hi this is Amy, friend of the Treanors...
Just wanted to give a brief update that the Treanors are doing well... they've got a lot going on over there right now but said things are going good... they are requesting that everyone continue to lift them up in prayer, specifically pray for peace, strength and joy for sweet Alicia.
I will try to continue to update as I hear from them.

Gotcha Day!!!!
OK... so today was the day that all the work we have been doing for the last 12 months finally came true... Eric and I became the proud parents of our 2nd beautiful daughter. Words will never be able to describe the feelings that rushed through me when I laid my eyes on her sweet, precious face. In an instant me and Eric's lives were turned upside down....WOW what a rush.
The hard part about all of today was looking into her eyes and seeing that she was terrified. All I wanted to do was to take her up in my arms and tell her how much I love her and all will be OK. I refrained myself though for fear that I would absolutely terrify her to the point of running the other direction.
Finally all of the paperwork was finished for Eric and I to have temporary custody of her and so then it was time to leave. First her nanny left which was very hard for her but mom and dad came to the rescue. We swooped in with tissues and a hug which seemed to help a little bit. Next it was time for the Treanor family to walk out the door. God couldn't have made this moment any sweeter. As we began to walk to the door Alicia came over to me and reached for my hand. At that moment I really had to hold back the wave of emotion. I got to hold my daughter's hand for the first time. I got to enjoy my first mom act with my precious Chinese princess. It is a moment that I will carry in my heart for eternity.
Our first adventure together was having our family photo done. This was too funny. The photographer had trouble getting the photo done because Alicia's hair kept getting in my face. We were all laughing so hard even Alicia. Our second adventure was being brought back to the hotel by our guide and our guide leaving. This was a scary moment. We didn't have anybody to help us communicate with one another. Yes we have an electronic translator but she's not wanting to talk back to us on it. We can't complain though because we have already had some great steps with her in just a few hours of being together. Like at diner tonight she feed Eric and I some of her french fries. Some of you might think this is nothing but to us it's EVERYTHING. She showed that she trusts us, that she's somewhat accepting us.
Now we are back at the hotel just sitting around staring at one another with occasional smiles. I long for the day when there is conversation but until then I will take the smiles. Well I shall say goodbye as I need to go get my girls settled down for bed. We do have another long day ahead of us tomorrow. Appointment at Civil Affairs and then off to get our adoption papers notarized.
I will try to post as often as time allows but for now we say goodbye....

The End of the Treanor 4
Sorry we haven't been blogging for the last week but honestly our world has been turned upside down trying to get prepared to leave. It has amazed me with all the detailed things you have to do to get ready to leave for a journey like this. With all the things to get done on my "To Do List" has come A LOT of emotion. Every day there has been MANY tears shed. Eric and I are overwhelmed with what God is doing in our lives, with the MANY blessings that God has given our family, with the treasures that he has entrusted to us as parents of his beautiful creations. WOW do we have an AWESOME God!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's kind of a low down of the past week:
1) Wake up...run here, run there, buy this, pack that....run, run, run, run, run ALL DAY!!!!!
2) Wake up and repeat step 1
3) Wake and repeat steps 2 and 1
4) Wake up and repeat steps 3,2, and 1
OK now I think you get the picture.
The only thing to add to this list is why the title, "The End of the Treanor 4" Well one night earlier this week Eric and I were settling down and we could hear Cecilia and Konrad playing and giggling in Konrad's room. Eric was going to go in there and tell them that they needed to settle down and go to sleep when I stopped him to say, "Let them be. They only have these last days together as just the two of them." Then it really hit the both of us...WOW their life as they know it is going to change FOREVER in just a few days. This was one of my teary moments. To continue on through our week to last night when reality really hit us is when Eric voiced, as all 4 of us were bedding down for a slumber party in our room, "this night is our last night as the Treanor 4." Well as you can guess I had another highly emotional night. For almost a decade now we have been the Treanor 4. No more...in just 5 days we will officially become the Treanor 5.
Well I'm off to go finish packing up Konrad's things so I can drive him to KY later today. Please pray for him. He will be staying behind as Eric, Cecilia and I go to bring our Princess home. We have never been away from him this long. He will be staying with all of his grandparents, so I know he will be well cared for, but I still worry about him getting sad.
